Department of Posts has released the 23,757 Posts official notification for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026 under Notification No. 17-12/2026-GDS dated 20 August 2026. Applications are invited for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak posts in different offices of the Department of Posts. Eligible candidates can complete One-Time Registration from 31 August 2026 to 19 September 2026 and submit online applications from 02 September 2026 to 21 September 2026.

Eligibility/Qualification
- 10th Standard Secondary School Examination (SSE) pass certificate from a recognized Board with passing marks in Mathematics and English.
- Candidate should have studied the local language up to 10th Standard from a recognized board.
- Knowledge of Computers.
- Knowledge of Cycling.
- Adequate means of livelihood.
Pay Scale / TRCA
- BPM: Rs. 12,000/- to Rs. 29,380/-
- ABPM / Dak Sevak: Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 24,470/-
- TRCA carries an annual increase of 3%, subject to fulfilment of conditions as given in the GDS Rules.
- GDSs are also entitled to Dearness Allowance and other applicable allowances and social security benefits.

India Post GDS Vacancy 2026: Post Wise Job Profile
| Branch Postmaster (BPM) | Day-to-day postal operations of the Branch Post Office and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), marketing and promotion of products and services, customer service centre operations, mail conveyance and delivery and other duties assigned by superior officers. |
| Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) | Sale of stamps/stationery, conveyance and delivery of mail, IPPB deposits/payments/other transactions, assistance in postal operations, marketing and promotion of products and services and other duties assigned by superior officers. |
| Dak Sevak | Sale of stamps and stationery, conveyance and delivery of mail, IPPB transactions, handling of mail, mail bags and parcels, delivery of mail and parcels, assistance in the functioning of Post Offices and other assigned duties. |
Selection Process
- Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of a system-generated merit list.
- The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained / conversion of Grades or Points to marks in the Secondary School Examination of 10th Standard.
- Marks will be aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals.
- In case of a tie, the priority criteria prescribed in the notification will be followed.
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo physical verification of documents.

- Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) using your active mobile number and email ID.
- Enter personal details carefully as recorded in the 10th Class Matriculation certificate.
- Login using the Registration Number and password received through SMS.
- Fill in the Board/Educational Details, Division selection and Post preferences.
- Upload recent photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
- Preview the application form and check all details before final submission.
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/-, if applicable.
- Submit the application within the prescribed date and time.
