Questions

Is there one formula for every university?

No. UGC leaves it to each university, so the right percentage is the one your own university's formula gives.

Which formulas does this converter use?

CBSE Class 10 (CGPA years, up to 2017): 9.5 × CGPA. Delhi University (CBCS): 9.5 × CGPA. Anna University (Regulations 2023 and 2025): CGPA × 10. AKTU B.Tech: CGPA × 10. RGPV B.Tech: CGPA × 10. VTU (2015, 2017 and 2018 schemes): (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. JNTU Hyderabad (R22 and R25): (CGPA − 0.5) × 10. BPUT Odisha: (CGPA − 0.5) × 10. Pune University (SPPU, 2019 pattern): A different formula for each CGPA band, for example 10 × CGPA − 7.5 from 6.75 to 8.25. Each one links to the board's or university's own document.

Is CGPA × 9.5 right for everyone?

No. 9.5 × CGPA is the formula CBSE gave for Class 10 in its CGPA years, and Delhi University uses it for CBCS. Many universities use CGPA × 10 or subtract 0.5 or 0.75 first.

What about CBSE results from 2018 onwards?

CBSE now gives marks, not CGPA, and does not work out a percentage. Its notice says the institute or employer does that calculation if it needs one.

My university is not listed. What should I do?
