The Office of the Superintendent of Railway Police (GRP), Howrah, Government of West Bengal has released an employment notice (Notice No. 01/2026/HA) for the contractual engagement of 05 vacancies of Driver for a tenure of one year. Eligible candidates who are permanent residents of West Bengal, have passed Class 8th, possess a valid four-wheeler driving licence, and have at least 02 years of driving experience can submit their offline application form via Speed Post or in the Drop Box on or before 21 October 2026.

- Candidate must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of West Bengal.
Salary & Contract Details
| Consolidated Remuneration | Rs. 16,000/- per month (subject to statutory deductions). |

Howrah GRP Driver Recruitment 2026: Vacancy Details
- Passed minimum Class VIII (8th) from a recognized School.
- Must possess a valid Four-Wheeler Driving Licence.
- At least 02 (Two) Years driving experience in any Government / Quasi-Government organization or Registered Pvt. Ltd. Company.
Selection Process (Total: 40 Marks)
- Driving Practical Test: 20 Marks
- Personal Interview: 20 Marks
- Merit list will be prepared based on combined marks of Driving Test & Interview and published on the official website: howrahgrp.wb.gov.in.
- Medical Fitness Examination conducted by the competent medical authority.
- Verification of Character and Antecedents (Police Clearance Certificate).
- No TA/DA will be paid to candidates appearing for the Driving Test and Interview.
Required Documents to Attach (Self-Attested Photocopies)
- Self-attested copy of Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, and PAN Card.
- Valid Four-Wheeler Driving Licence copy.
- Class 8th Pass Certificate / Mark Sheet.
- Experience Certificate demonstrating at least 2 years of driving experience.
- One recent passport-size colour photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) pasted on the top right corner of the application form and self-attested.

- Print the application form on clean white A4 size paper.
- Fill out the form in CAPITAL LETTERS with all requested personal, educational, license, and experience details.
