UPSSSC Mukhya Sevika Vacancy 2026: Status, Last Advertisement, Eligibility and Syllabus Update
UPSSSC has not issued a Mukhya Sevika (मुख्य सेविका) advertisement in 2026 so far, so this page covers the latest official one, Advertisement 05-Exam/2022 for 2693 posts: vacancies, eligibility, fee, selection and where the syllabus stands.
Is there a Mukhya Sevika vacancy in 2026?
Not as of 6 October 2026. UPSSSC has issued 23 advertisements this year (01-Exam/2026 to 23-Exam/2026), and none of them is for Mukhya Sevika. The commission's exam calendar for January to December 2026, issued on 3 August 2026, has no Mukhya Sevika exam in it. The applications open on the UPSSSC website on that date were under 17-Exam/2026 to 21-Exam/2026, all for other posts.
Until a new advertisement comes out, the details below are from the 2022 advertisement. A new advertisement can change the number of posts, dates, age limit and fee, so check it when it is published.

The advertisement says these numbers could go up or down.
Posts later revised to 2567
The Allahabad High Court passed an order on 13 November 2024 in Writ Petition 12924/2022 (Anita Singh and others vs Union of India and others). Following it, UPSSSC kept 126 of the 2693 posts vacant and continued the selection for the remaining 2567 posts. The commission says the outcome is subject to the court's final order.
Mukhya Sevika eligibility
Education
A bachelor's degree in Arts with Sociology, Social Work, Home Science or Nutrition and Child Development as one of the subjects, from a university set up by law in India, or a degree the government recognises as equal to it. This comes from the Uttar Pradesh Bal Vikas Sewa evam Pushtahar (Subordinate) Service Rules, 1992. You must hold the degree by the last date of application.
Preference (अधिमानी अर्हता)
When candidates are otherwise equal, preference goes to someone who has:
- practical experience of welfare work for children and women in rural areas,
- served at least two years in the Territorial Army, or
- an NCC 'B' certificate.
Age limit
- 21 to 40 years on 1 July 2022.
- The upper age limit is higher for SC, ST and other categories the government notifies, by the number of years it specifies.
- Uttar Pradesh government employees get up to five more years.
PET requirement
- Only candidates who took the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2021 (PET-2021) and got a score card could apply.
- A candidate whose PET-2021 score (absolute or normalised) was zero or below was not shortlisted.
- For the written exam, UPSSSC shortlisted 15 times the number of posts in each category, on PET score.
Other conditions
- Reservation benefits apply only to candidates who are domiciled in Uttar Pradesh. Women from Uttar Pradesh need a caste certificate issued from their father's side.
- A woman who has married a man who already has a living wife is not eligible, unless the Governor grants an exemption.

The Rs 25 is the online processing fee; the application fee itself was zero.
Selection process
- Shortlisting on the PET-2021 score.
- Written main exam. Under Uttar Pradesh rules for Group C posts, selection is based on the written exam and there is no interview. If the exam runs in more than one shift, scores are normalised.
- Document verification (अर्हता/अभिलेख परीक्षण) of the candidates who qualify on their written exam score.
Mukhya Sevika exam pattern and syllabus PDF
The 2022 advertisement gives no exam pattern or syllabus. Section 10 of the advertisement says the exam scheme and syllabus (परीक्षा योजना एवं पाठ्यक्रम) would be published separately on upsssc.gov.in.
As of 6 October 2026, the "Download Syllabus Against Post" page on the UPSSSC website lists no syllabus, and we could not find the separately published Mukhya Sevika syllabus PDF there. We could not check the number of questions, marks, time limit, negative marking or topic list against an official document, so we do not give them here.
The official notices do confirm these points about the 2022 exam:
- The written main exam was held on 24 September 2023.
- Candidates for document verification were chosen on their normalised written exam scores.
- The main exam had its own fee, separate from the Rs 25 application fee.

UPSSSC said that the 8337 candidates on this list were not the final selection, and that the final result would follow document verification.
Getting ready for the next Mukhya Sevika vacancy
- Check that your degree includes Sociology, Social Work, Home Science or Nutrition and Child Development. That was the subject rule in 2022.
- In 2022, only candidates with a PET score could apply. UPSSSC's 2026 calendar lists PET-2026 (Advertisement 16-Exam/2026) as proposed for October 2026.
- Keep your caste, EWS, domicile and disability certificates ready, since reservation claims need them.
