The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official recruitment notification for the Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Telecommunication) and Scientific Assistant in IMD Examination, 2026 for a total of 1,748 tentative vacancies across various Ministries, Departments, and Central Government Organizations (including BRO, CPWD, MES, CWC, NTRO, IMD, DoT, etc.). Eligible candidates holding a Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics / Telecom) or B.Sc. in Physics/CS can apply online from 02 September 2026 to 22 September 2026 (23:00 Hrs) at ssc.gov.in.

How to Apply Online for SSC JE Examination 2026
- Visit the official SSC portal: ssc.gov.in or download the ‘mySSC’ Mobile Application from Google Play Store.
- If not registered on the new portal, complete One-Time Registration (OTR) with Aadhaar Authentication.
- Log in using your Registration Number and Password.
- Click on the ‘Apply’ link under the “Junior Engineer Examination, 2026” section in the Live Examinations tab.
- Select your qualifying educational stream and posts applied for.
- Choose 3 examination center preferences within the same SSC region.
- Live Photo Capture: Capture a clear live photograph using your webcam or the mySSC mobile app in a well-lit area without a cap, mask, or spectacles.
- Upload your clear scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB, size 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm).
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- through online payment modes (Women/SC/ST/PwBD/ESM are exempt).
- Preview the application form, verify all entries, agree to the declaration, and click Submit before 22 September 2026 (23:00 Hrs).
- Download and take a printout of the completed online application form for future reference.
