SMC Recruitment 2026 OUT - Apply 123 Dy Town Planner and Asst Town Planner Posts
An official supplementary notification (Advt. No. PRO/320/2026-27) issued by Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) announces recruitment for 70 vacancies for Deputy Town Planner and Assistant Town Planner. Candidates with a Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Planning degree (B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Plan, M.E./M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan) and a relevant PG Degree/Diploma in Town/City/Regional Planning can apply through the official online portal. Applications open on 16 November 2026 (11:00 AM) and close on 30 November 2026 (11:00 PM). Those who already applied for these cadres through the previous advertisement (Advt. No. PRO/739) need not apply again.

Age Limit (as on 30.11.2026)
- Deputy Town Planner: Maximum 45 Years
- Assistant Town Planner: Upper age limit is 35 Years.
- Reserved category candidates with Gujarat domicile can receive age relaxation under State Government rules. The upper age must not exceed 45 years.
- Regular employees of Surat Municipal Corporation are exempt from the age limit.

- Degree from a recognized University: M.Arch. / M.E. (Civil) / B.Arch. / B.E. (Civil) / M.Plan / B.Plan.
- AND a Post Graduate Degree / Diploma course covering City Planning / Town Planning / Regional Planning OR membership in the Institute of Town Planners.
- Experience: At least 5 years of work related to Town Planning after qualification.
- Knowledge of basic computer applications at CCC+ level and proficiency in Gujarati/Hindi.
- Degree from a recognized University: M.Arch. / M.E. (Civil) / B.Arch. / B.E. (Civil) / M.Plan / B.Plan.
- AND a Post Graduate Degree / Diploma course covering City Planning / Town Planning / Regional Planning OR membership in the Institute of Town Planners.
- Knowledge of basic computer applications at CCC level and proficiency in Gujarati/Hindi.

- Step 1: Open www.suratmunicipal.gov.in, the official website for Surat Municipal Corporation.
- Step 2: Under Recruitment, find the User Registration / Online Application link for Advt. No. PRO/320/2026-27.
- Step 3 (User Registration): Provide your Mobile Number, Email ID and Captcha code. Use OTP to verify your mobile number. Set a strong password to finish signup. Then confirm your email using the link delivered to your inbox.
- Step 4 (User Profile): Use your registered Email/Mobile and password for login. Enter your complete address, personal information, Aadhaar details and known languages (English / Hindi / Gujarati). Update and save your profile.
- Step 5 (Apply for Cadre): Open the Home tab and locate the relevant Deputy Town Planner or Assistant Town Planner post. Choose “Apply Now”.
- Step 6 (Educational & Experience Details): Choose the degree that qualifies you. Provide your examination marks / CGPA and conversion formula, along with work experience details, especially for Deputy Town Planner. Select “Save as Draft”.
- Step 7 (Upload Photo & Signature): Use JPG/JPEG/PNG format to upload a scanned color photograph (Max 150 KB; 5 cm x 3.6 cm). Also upload your signature in black/blue ink on white paper (Max 50 KB; 2.5 cm x 7.5 cm).
- Step 8 (Confirm & Fee Payment): Check your application details in preview, then select “Confirm & Pay”. Use the online payment gateway to pay the fee: General—Rs. 500/-; Reserved/Female—Rs. 400/-.
- Step 9 (Print Application & Receipt): Download the finalized application form along with the fee payment receipt. Print both for future reference at document verification.
