Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has released the IOB LBO Syllabus 2026 along with the official Local Bank Officer (LBO) Recruitment 2026-27 notification for 250 vacancies in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). IOB LBO Selection Process 2026
As per the official notification, the Indian Overseas Bank LBO Recruitment 2026 selection process consists of the following stages:
- Online Examination: An objective test consisting of 140 questions for 200 marks across four sections. The examination is conducted with separate sectional timing.
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Applicable to candidates who have not studied the local language of the applied state as a subject in Class 10 or Class 12. Candidates who fail the LPT will not proceed further in the selection process.
- Personal Interview: The interview carries 100 marks and candidates are required to secure the prescribed minimum qualifying marks.

Online Examination Pattern
The IOB LBO Online Examination consists of 140 objective-type questions carrying a total of 200 marks. The examination is conducted for a total duration of 3 hours with separate sectional time limits.

IOB LBO Negative Marking 2026
- 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in the online examination.
- Candidates should attempt questions carefully to avoid unnecessary loss of marks.
Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
Candidates who have not studied the local language of the state for which they have applied as a subject in Class 10 or Class 12 must qualify the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) before appearing for the Personal Interview.
The LPT is a qualifying stage only and does not carry marks towards the final merit list. Candidates who fail to qualify the LPT will not proceed to the next stage of the selection process.
