BSFC Lower Division Clerk (LDC) Recruitment 2026: Application Form, Eligibility and Syllabus
BCECEB has advertised 123 Lower Division Clerk (LDC) posts in the Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation (BSFC); the online application form closed in September 2026, and the exam date is not announced yet as of 6 October 2026.
The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) released Advertisement No. BCECEB(BSFC)-2026/01 on 24 August 2026. It covers 259 posts in five cadres at the Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, which works under the Food and Consumer Protection Department, Government of Bihar. The largest share, 123 posts, is for Lower Division Clerk (LDC).
Selection is through an online computer based test (CBT). The CBT marks are used to make a panel, and the panel is valid for one year. This page summarises the official advertisement and prospectus for the LDC post.

Some LDC posts are also reserved horizontally, inside the 123 total:
- Persons with disability: 1 for visual disability (VI), 1 for deaf and mute (DD), 2 for locomotor disability (OH) and 1 for mental or multiple disability (MM).
- Dependants (grandchildren) of freedom fighters: 3.
The advertisement says the number of posts can go up or down as needed.
BSFC Lower Division Clerk eligibility
Educational qualification
You need a graduate degree from a recognised university. You must also be skilled in computer operation and computer typing.
The LDC syllabus sets the typing standard for the Computer Proficiency section:
- Hindi typing: 30 words per minute (300 words in 10 minutes) on a computer.
- English typing: 35 words per minute (350 words in 10 minutes) on a computer.
- To qualify, typing errors must not be more than 1.5%.
The prospectus does not say when or how a separate typing test will be held.
Age limit
The minimum age is 21 years on 1 January 2026. The maximum age is also counted on 1 January 2026.

The age table does not list EWS separately. Other relaxations in the prospectus:
- Ex-servicemen get relief equal to their defence service plus 3 years. Their actual age must not be over 57 on the date of applying.
- Government servants applying for a higher pay scale post get 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
Nationality, reservation and medical fitness
- You must be a citizen of India.
- Reservation is only for Bihar domicile candidates with a valid caste certificate from a competent Bihar authority. Candidates from outside Bihar do not get reservation benefits.
- Selected candidates go through a medical test. They must give a Medical Fitness Certificate from an Assistant Civil Surgeon.

The candidate pays any processing charge. The fee is not refunded, and a submitted form cannot be withdrawn.
BSFC Lower Division Clerk (LDC) exam pattern
- The exam is an online CBT. It may run in more than one shift if there are many candidates.
- The medium is English and Hindi.
- There are 100 objective questions. Each question carries 1 mark.
- The total time is 2 hours 15 minutes.

BSFC Lower Division Clerk syllabus
The prospectus gives an indicative syllabus for the LDC post in Annexure V.
Section A: General Studies and Mental Ability
- General Science: everyday science that a well-educated person should know.
- Current events of national and international importance.
- History of India, with a broad view of social, economic and political aspects.
- Indian National Movement: the 19th century resurgence, the growth of nationalism and Independence.
- Geography, mainly of India: physical, social and economic geography, agriculture and natural resources.
- Indian Polity and Economy: the Constitution, the political system, Panchayati Raj, social systems and economic development.
- Mental ability: reasoning and analytical ability, including analogy, numeric and ordering tests.
Section B: Indian Language
This section tests your ability to read and understand serious prose, and to express your ideas clearly in English or Hindi.
Section C: Computer Proficiency
- Basic computer and word processing knowledge, with knowledge of MS Office.
- Computer typing in Hindi and English at the speeds given in the eligibility section above.
Selection process
- Online computer based test (CBT).
- A post-wise merit list based on total CBT marks. If marks are tied, the candidate with more marks in Section A ranks higher, then Section B, then the older candidate.
- Counselling or interview, where BCECEB checks original documents. Bring your admit card, certificates for qualification and date of birth, and your call letter.
- Medical fitness test for selected candidates.
The CBT is only for making a panel in merit order. Being on the panel does not guarantee a job. A selected candidate signs an agreement with BSFC, which includes a 2 year probation period.
How the BSFC LDC application form was filled
The form was filled online through the "Online Portal of Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd." link on bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. The steps were:
- Register with your own email ID and mobile number. You get a registration number and password.
- Log in, change your password, and fill in basic details.
- Fill in educational qualification details.
- Fill in experience details, if any.
- Upload a high-contrast colour passport size photo and your signature in Hindi or English.
- Preview the form, accept the declaration and click Final Submit.
- Pay the fee online.
- Download and print the application form. Keep it safe. You do not need to send it to BCECEB, but you will need it at document verification.
The registration, fee payment and correction windows are all over. An incomplete form is rejected.

For Quality Controller, you need a B.Sc. (Agriculture), or a B.Tech or B.E. in Food Science, Food Science and Technology, Agriculture Engineering or Biotechnology, from a recognised university or an AICTE approved institute. Its CBT has 50 questions on General Studies and Mental Ability, 20 on Indian Language (Hindi and English) and 30 on Indian Agriculture. The age limits, fee and dates are the same as for LDC.
BSFC LDC admit card and exam date
The exam date and the admit card date are not announced yet as of 6 October 2026. The advertisement says both will be notified in due course.
- The admit card will be uploaded on the BCECEB website. It will show your name, photo, roll number, category, exam centre, exam date and exam duration.
- If your admit card has an error, contact the Nodal Officer, BSFCSC Ltd., C/o BCECE Board, IAS Bhawan, near Patna Airport, P.O. B.V. College, Patna 800014, at least five days before the exam, between 11 AM and 3 PM on working days.
- The exam centre cannot be changed once it is allotted.
