- Must hold a Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ship (Master FG) issued by the Directorate General of Shipping (Govt. of India) or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- OR Valid Pilot Licence issued by a Major Port Trust / Port Management Board.
- Relevant sea service experience as Master / Chief Officer on foreign-going merchant vessels or harbour pilotage experience in port waters.
