The official admission notification has been released by the Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi for the academic session 2026-2027. It covers the BDS Externship / Internship Program for External Candidates. There are 11 vacant seats for external dental graduates whose final BDS examination was passed on or before 15 November 2026 at an institution recognized by the National Dental Commission (erstwhile Dental Council of India). Eligible candidates can submit their offline application form with the required documents on or before 16 November 2026 (upto 04:00 PM) at the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, JMI.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have cleared the Final BDS Examination on or before 15 November 2026.
- Throughout the candidate’s study period, their parent dental institution must have held due recognition from the National Dental Commission (erstwhile DCI).
- A valid No Objection Certificate (NOC), along with a character certificate, must be obtained from the parent institution.
- To undergo internship at JMI, candidates must have permission from their affiliating University.
- Under NDC guidelines, internship is permitted only for the full one-year period; part internship is strictly prohibited.
Selection Procedure
- Academic merit and performance in the interview will be the only basis for selection of external candidates.

How to Apply for JMI BDS External Internship 2026
- Use the notification to download the official application proforma along with the document checklist.
- Complete the application form clearly and fully, providing correct personal details and academic information.
- Attach self-attested photocopies of these essential documents: An application letter explaining why you seek internship at Faculty of Dentistry, JMI. Marksheets covering all BDS Annual Examinations (each part / year). Attempt Certificate and percentage of marks provided by the parent University/College. A No Objection Certificate (NOC) certifying NDC / DCI recognition, issued by the parent institution. A permission letter issued by the affiliated University. A Good Conduct and Character Certificate issued by the parent institution’s head. A Written Undertaking covering the prescribed points: paying the Rs. 1,75,000/- training fee, accepting the Rs. 3,000/- stipend, maintaining discipline, and following JMI rules. Documentary proof for any distinctions / medals awarded. Two recent photographs: affix one self-attested photograph on the form and provide the other without attestation.
- Submit your completed application form with all enclosures at the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi - 110025, on or before 16 November 2026 up to 04:00 PM.
- Appear for document verification on 18 November 2026. Attend the personal interview at 11:00 AM on 23 November 2026 in the Conference Room, Faculty of Dentistry, JMI.
- TA/DA will not be provided for attending document verification or the interview.
