Eligibility Criteria
- An applicant shall not be eligible for appointment as Presiding Officer of a Debts Recovery Tribunal unless he/she: (a) Is, or has been, a District Judge; OR (b) Is, or has been, an Indian Legal Service member in Grade I or above.
- Former Chairpersons or Members of Tribunals can also be considered for re-appointment.
- In-service judges or government officers must secure voluntary retirement or tender their resignation before taking up the post in the Tribunal upon selection.
